Introduction
We take privacy and data security seriously and are committed to transparency in the collection and use of your Personal Information. We have prepared this Privacy Policy to provide notice about how we use Personal Information, and the circumstances under which we may share such information.  This Privacy Policy applies to the privacy practices of Regis Holdings (Canada) Ltd. and related companies operating hair salons in Canada (for purposes of this Privacy Policy, collectively, “Regis”).

What is Personal Information?
For purposes of this Policy, "Personal Information" means any information, in any form, about an identified or identifiable individual, including an individual whose identity may be inferred or determined from such information.  Personal Information does not include business contact information (e.g., name, title, business address) or data from which the identity of an individual cannot be determined. 

Information Collection and Use

Information You Provide
We may use Personal Information that we obtain directly from individuals to:

(a) Manage our ongoing relationship with customers, clients, franchisees, and others;
(b) Meet legal and regulatory requirements; 
(c) Review franchise applications and determine suitability for franchise opportunities;
(d) Provide training, information, and advice to franchisees;
(e) Provide training and in-salon workshops to employees of our franchisees;
(f) Process job applications or related inquiries for current or future employment opportunities;
(g) Register an account to manage preferences, profile or reminders;
(h) Sell merchandise, including gift cards;
(i) Provide locations for nearby salons;
(j) Process donations to charities;
(k) Provide information about chair rental;
(l) Assist franchisees in setting-up and managing a salon; and
(m) Such other purposes consistent with these purposes.  

We may use Personal Information that is provided by customers and clients in our salons in order to: 

(a) Keep a log of client appointments;
(b) Provide appropriate hair care and esthetics products and services to customers and clients;
(c) Manage our ongoing relationships with customers, clients and others;
(d) Conduct marketing and research, including  to contact you to participate in surveys;
(e) Send you information about sponsored events, promotions and contests (and to conduct and administer such promotions that you may participate in, such as sweepstakes);
(f) Send you information about products or services that may be of interest to you;
(g) Meet legal and regulatory requirements; and
(h) Such other purposes consistent with these purposes. 

Information Collected Automatically
In addition to information that you provide to us, when you visit our websites we may collect certain information using automated means such as cookies, web beacons, and web server logs. The types of information we collect automatically include IP addresses, device identifiers, browser characteristics, operating system details, language preferences, referring URLs, length of visits, and pages viewed. We may combine this automatically-collected information with other information we obtain about you. If you use our mobile applications or maps features, we may obtain geolocation information about you to allow those features to function properly.

Data Analytics
Our websites (“Sites”) may use third-party web analytics services, such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics, to help us analyze how visitors use the Sites. Information Sharing
Except as described in this Policy and as required or permitted by law, we do not sell or share your Personal Information without your consent.

Social Features
The Sites may include features that are designed to permit interactions that you initiate between the Sites and third party websites or services, including third party social networks (“Social Features”). Examples of Social Features include enabling you to log in to the Sites with the username and password you use with a third party site or service; to “like” or “share” our content on other websites or services; or to transmit content to our Sites from your account on a third party website or service.

If you choose to use Social Features on the Sites, information you post or provide access to may be publicly displayed on the Sites or by the provider of the Social Feature that you use. Similarly, if you post information on a third party platform that references one of our Sites (e.g., by using a hashtag associated with Regis in a tweet or status update), your post may be published on our Sites in accordance with the terms of the third party website or service. Also, both Regis and the third party may have access to certain information about you and your use of both the Sites and the third party site or service. In addition, we may receive information about you if other users of a third party website allow us to access their profiles and you are one of their “connections,” or if information about you is otherwise accessible through those individuals’ profiles or pages on a social networking or other third party website or interactive service.

The information we collect in connection with Social Features is subject to this Privacy Policy. The information collected and stored by the third parties remains subject to those third parties’ privacy practices, including whether the third parties continue to share information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on those third party websites or services.

Service Provider Arrangements
We may share your Personal Information with our business partners, as well as with our vendors, consultants or other service providers who carry out work on our behalf.

Where we provide Personal Information to organizations that perform services on our behalf, we will require those service providers to use such information solely for the purposes of providing services to us, our prospective or existing customers, clients, franchisees or the person concerned, and to maintain appropriate safeguards for the protection of that Personal Information.  

Your Personal Information may be maintained and processed by our service providers in the US or other jurisdictions.  In the event that your Personal Information is transferred to the US or other foreign jurisdiction, it will be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction and may be disclosed to or accessed by the courts, law enforcement and governmental authorities in accordance with those laws.

Business Partners
Where we share Personal Information with business partners, we will require those business partners to use such information solely in furtherance of the business purpose for which we have shared the information, and to maintain appropriate safeguards for the protection of that Personal Information.

Business Transactions
We may share your Personal Information with individuals or organizations that are, or may be, involved in (a) a transfer of all or part of the assets or business of our company or a franchise company; (b) maintaining, reviewing and developing our business systems, procedures and infrastructure including testing or upgrading our computer systems; or (c) a corporate re-organization of our company. 

Where Personal Information may be subject to transfer to another organization in contemplation of a merger, sale or other transaction involving our company’s assets or our company’s business units or change of ownership of all or part of our company, we will disclose the information subject to an agreement under which the collection, use and disclosure of the information (including any Personal Information) is restricted to those purposes that relate to the business transaction, including a determination of whether or not to proceed with the business transaction, and is to be used by the parties to carry out and complete the business transaction.  

Legal, Compliance, Enforcement and Fraud Prevention
Please note that there are circumstances where the use and/or disclosure of Personal Information may be justified or permitted or where we are obliged to disclose information without consent.  Such circumstances may include: 

(a) Where required by law or by order or requirement of a court, administrative agency or governmental tribunal;
(b) Where we believe, upon reasonable grounds, that it is necessary to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of an identifiable person or group;
(c) Where it is necessary to establish or collect monies owing to us; or
(d) Where it is necessary to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit any damages that we may sustain. 

If we are obliged or permitted to disclose Personal Information without first obtaining your consent, we will not disclose more Personal Information than is required. 

Safeguarding and Retention of Personal Information

We maintain appropriate physical, electronic and procedural safeguards designed to protect Personal Information in our custody and control against theft, loss and unauthorized access, use, modification and disclosure. 

We have Personal Information retention processes designed to retain Personal Information for no longer than necessary for the purposes stated above or to otherwise meet legal requirements.

We further protect Personal Information by restricting access to it to those employees that the management of our company has determined need to know that information in order that we may provide our services. 

Access To Your Personal Information

You may have the right to access, update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Information in our custody and control, subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. You may request access, updating or correction of inaccuracies in your Personal Information in our custody or control by emailing privacyrequest@regiscorp.com or by writing to us at the contact information set out below. To help protect your privacy and security, we may take reasonable steps to verify your identity, including by requesting certain Personal Information, prior to honoring any such requests.
